The qualities we look for in an ideal candidate for Engineer in forensic investigations include:
- Registered Professional Engineer (multiple states is preferred)
- Effective communicator, especially when testifying in depositions or court
- Court qualified as an expert, or able to become court qualified
- Ability to express opinions and present factual data that will hold up against other experts and in court
- Willing to get a little dirty in the field to discover the truth
A background in forensics is not a prerequisite to become a great engineer in forensic investigations. With a great attitude, determination and a strong work ethic a candidate will gain the training and experience needed to become the best.
