The loss scene is thoroughly examined and photographed and necessary evidence is taken, and the person discovering the loss event is interviewed by one of our
origin and cause experts. The first arriving firefighters and the local investigating officials are also interviewed. The origin and cause investigation allows the expert to gather enough facts to appear in court and testify as to where the fire or explosion originated and what caused the event.
There are some events where there are simply not enough facts remaining to determine the cause, but Unified is able to determine the cause of the event in over eighty percent of its cases. Unified also provides professional supervision and maintains checks and balances to ensure that clients are receiving the highest technological and scientific service available. The client can expect that, when Unified determines the origin and cause of an event, the facts surrounding the event will be well documented and evidence carefully obtained and preserved. When the event is undetermined, we challenge any expert in our field to scientifically support a different opinion.
