UIS provides seminars on a variety of subjects. In many states our seminars have been approved for continuing education credits with the State Board of Insurance. Simply call the Service Center in your area to get a list of state-approved seminars. We also provide custom-designed, in-house training seminars. Course outlines and detailed data sheets of any of our instructors can be provided upon request.
These seminars teach the adjuster about red flags that should alert him or her to possible fraud. The adjuster learns indicators of an actual burglary or theft so he or she can better identify suspected fraudulent claims. Investigative techniques are discussed and scientific principles of investigation are taught.
Origin and Cause Seminars, from a simple one-hour course to a course expanding to six weeks, can be provided. Fire chemistry, fire behavior and fire dynamics are taught in addition to a variety of red flags that can be identified in the file and at the scene.
Involving the origin and causes of fires and explosions are taught by fire experts and electrical and mechanical engineers. Available seminars include the determination of common electrical fire causes, accidental fire investigations, subrogation investigations, technical investigation of vehicle claims fraud, technical vehicle accident investigation and other specially tailored seminars to assist the adjuster in obtaining accurate facts about a claim.
